The current President and CEO of InnovaCare is Dr. Richard Shinto. Dr. Shinto used to be the President and CEO of Aveta Inc., but in 2008, Avena was sold to another company. He was also a member of its management team. Dr. Shinto is CEO of InnovaCare’s Health Plans in Puerto Rico.
Dr. Shinto has over 20 years of experience in managed care. He spent much of that time in clinical and operational healthcare. He attended the University of California, State University of New York, and the University of Redlands. He has B.S., M.B.A., and a medical degree.
Another brilliant member of the InnovaCare leadership team is Chief Administrative Officer Penelope Kokkinides. In 2015, Kokkinides rejoined InnovaCare after working for Centerlight Healthcare. She also worked at Aveta Inc. before it was sold.
Kokkinides has over 20 years of experience, and she specialized in working with government programs and the managed care industry. She also attended Binghamton University, New York University, and Columbia University School of Public Health.
